Hello, Monday. I'm so glad you're here. Well, glad might be an overstatement, but you're here now, Monday, and with you comes a new set of goals.
But first, let's review how last week's goals went...
1. Chapter Twenty
Hahahahahahaha. Yeah, that didn't happen. The biggest problem is every time I think I've worked out the quagmire that is Chapter Nineteen, I change my mind. That said, there are almost 5000 words in Chapter Twenty right now—which is almost 5000 more than were in the black hole that was Chapter Twenty at the start of last week—so I did work on it this week, but it's not finished, and I'm not entirely sure that they're the right 5000 words. Chapter Nineteen—the current bane of my existence—has made me doubt everything. Curse you, Chapter Nineteen!
2. Take donation bags to Good Will.
Hahahahahahaha. Yeah, that didn't happen. The worst part is that I fully intended to do this last Tuesday. And then I forgot to put the bags in the car. Again. And I didn't realize it until I was practically there. One of these days I will make this happen. Curse you...my memory and/or powers of observation. Or lack there of.
3. Read a book.
Hahahahahahaha. Yeah, that didn't—Oh wait...I actually did this one. Go me. I read Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham. It was all right. I wish it had been better.
But I did read it. Which brings my success percentage to a whopping 33%. Good thing I'm not being graded on any of this, isn't it?
So the theme this week is to do better. With this in mind, here are my new goals—Well, all right. It's just the one goal:
1. Work out the problems with Chapter Nineteen.
Want to know how frustrated with this chapter I've been? Last week, I set it aside to work on Effigy's blurb for a while because I thought "Hey, that'll be easier!" So I am going to work out these problems once and for all (or at least for the first draft). I don't even have to write a single word to accomplish this goal. All I have to do is make a plan. And stick with it.
On that not at all frightening note, I'm out of here. I'm off to stare at a storyboard until brilliance strikes. Or I get hungry. Whichever comes first.
What are your goals for the week?
Thanks for stopping by!
